Warning amd-cpu has never been tested on an Athlon, it is likely there is a bug in the code and that it will crash your system. To test amd-cpu without having it crash your system on boot do not install the boot configuration file until after you have tested it with the tools in the test directory.

To Install amd-cpu
drag amd-cpu to the drag-amd-cpu here - link

double click on the drag-amd-cpu here - link to open the directory (if you are using the single window browsing mode you want to open a new window for this)

double click on the open me to make amd-cpu link - link to open the link directory

now select amd-cpu from the drag-amd-cpu here - link window and drag it to the open me to make amd-cpu link - link window. But hold down the alt key before releasing. A menu will pop up, select Create Link Here. You can now close these windows.

amd-cpu is now installed and you can reboot your machine to test it. Once you have tested it with the tools in the test folder you can configure the boot settings to have your settings take effect on boot. See the boot settings fold on instruction how to set up the config file.

NOTE: It is possible that your mtrrs are already reported set by testamd. If this is the case then you can uninstall amd-cpu.

I've had reports that be that BeOS 5 may infact be setting the MTRRs for the Athlon and Duron. I'm not sure this is the case for all Athlon machines or not but at least now we can check.
