About Hammurabi:
Hammurabi for BeOS
Version 1.2 (Intel), November 17, 1998
By Matt Wronkiewicz
Hammurabi is a simple game where you are the king of a small middle eastern nation. The object is to obtain land so your people can be rich. If you kill too many people, they will revolt. Your reign lasts for twenty years.
The Rules:
Each person can plant ten acres of land and needs twenty bushels a year to survive.
One bushel of wheat plants two acres.
The harvest each year can be from one to six bushels per acre.
Land can be bought and sold at the current trading price.
Credits:
I didn't invent the game. I first found it in a book on BASIC computer programs for the Apple II. I didn't paint the paintings, either. That was the incredible work of Pieter Bruegel the Elder (1525-69). I didn't even digitize them. The copyright belongs to Nicolas Pioch. I did code the application (except for the sample code), however, and I have chosen to distribute it as freeware. I am including the sources in case they may be of benefit to other developers. If you use more than a few lines, please give me credit.
Thanks also go to Ryan Ott and Mike Stall for play testing and beta testing the game. Also thanks to Jason Luther, Vikram Kulkarni, Chip Paul and the BUG@UIUC for programming help.
