About Iomega Zip100:
Iomega Parallel Zip Driver
This directory contains the alpha version .20 of the Zip100 driver for BeOS R4. It has only been tested on the Intel version BeOS.
You may use, modify and distribute this package under the conditions of the
GNU General Public License. If you make improvements, I'd like to hear about
them so that I can merge them into my version.
The driver is based on the Linux zip driver. Much of the lowlevel IO code has been used verbatim.
If you have problems using this driver, drop me (mattc@ic.net) a note and I'll try to help.
Be sure to read the NO WARRANTY section of the license before you
entrust any valuable data to this software.
Good luck,
Matt Chartier
Installation:
- Copy or link the file zip100 to the
/boot/home/config/add-ons/kernel/drivers/bin directory
- Create the
/boot/home/config/add-ons/kernel/drivers/dev/disk/ppa/zip100 directory
- Create a link to the zip100 file in the bin directory above in the
/boot/home/config/add-ons/kernel/drivers/dev/disk/ppa/zip100 directory
- Restart
Usage:
Start DriveSetup. You should see a device named /dev/disk/ppa/zip100. If you have a disk in the drive, it should show you the partition table. If there isn't a disk in the drive, you'll see 'no media'.
To create a Be partition, select the zip100 device and select Partition. Modify the partitions as you wish. After completing the partitioning, select Initialize, and mount the drive when it's done. That's it.
Have fun...
