About Lexmark 5700:
Lexmark 5xxx and 7xxx Driver for BeOS, by Ryan Lockhart.
This is a very early beta of a BeOS native driver for Lexmark
5700 and 7000 series printers. It has been tested only on the 5700
model. Feedback for other models is appreciated. I can be reached
at r_lock@bellsouth.net.
Notes:
Lexmark does not give out information about their printing protocols.
This driver was developed using information obtained by reverse-
engineering Windows drivers. Specifically, this driver is based on
protocol information obtained by Henryk Paluch and Peter B. West.
USE THIS DRIVER AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Installation Instructions:
Copy the file named Lexmark 5700 with the pretty blue squiggly
icon to /boot/home/config/add-ons/Print/.
Add the printer through the Printer Preferences panel
in the Be Menu.
Features currently supported:
Black and White printing.
600 DPI printing.
Portrait and Landscape orientation printing.
Features not supported, but planned:
Color printing.
300 DPI and 1200 DPI printing.
Known Bugs:
Doesn't work with Opera. Attempting to print from Opera "crashes" the printer.
I think I know what the problem is, I'll fix it eventually.
Gobe documents may print very, very slowly. Again, I think I know what the
problem is. I'll fix it soon.
Still prints everything crooked on my printer. GIVE ME FEEDBACK!!! :)

Fixed the whitespace problem. The driver will now skip over whitespace
without swiping the head.
